(Lanka-e-News -27.Oct.2024, 7.00 pm) A luxury car without a license plate was discovered yesterday (26) at a house belonging to the wife of former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte.
Former State Minister Ratwatte and his wife testified to the police that the car was brought into the garage at their residence by his private secretary, who had been shot and killed several days ago.
The police headquarters received information that a luxury car without a license plate was present at a three-story house owned by Shashi Prabha Ratwatte, Lohan Ratwatte’s wife, located on Shalawa Road in Mirihana Ambuldeniya.
In response, Mirihana Police reported the situation to the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court and inspected the vehicle at the house.
Statements were obtained from the former minister and his wife. According to them, the former minister’s wife’s mother resides at the house, and three weeks ago, the former minister’s private secretary, who was later shot dead in Kandy’s Katugasthota area, brought the vehicle into the garage.
The luxury car, without license plates and keys, was transported to the Mirihana Police with considerable effort.
The police stated that the Government Analyst is scheduled to examine the car today (27), after which further investigations will be conducted.
