Nominations Closed..! Here is the Outstanding National List of the NPP..!

(Lanka-e-News -13.Oct.2024, 9.15 pm) The process of accepting nominations for the upcoming General Election, which concluded Friday, has resulted in the approval of 690 nomination papers submitted by major parties and independent groups, while 74 nomination papers were rejected, according to the Election Commission’s General Commissioner, Saman Sri Rathnayake.

Meanwhile, the national lists for parliamentary seats from the parties contesting the election were also presented to the commission today. The National People’s Power (NPP) submitted a unique and diverse list for this General Election, which stands out compared to previous national lists in Sri Lanka. The list includes notable figures such as Sugath Thilakaratne, an Olympic medalist, and a visually impaired degree holder representing the disabled community. The full list is as follows:

    1.    Bimal Rathnayake - Former Member of Parliament, Political Bureau Member of the JVP, and National Executive Committee Member of the NPP
    2.    Professor Wasantha Subasinghe - Social Sciences Department, University of Kelaniya, National Executive Committee Member of the NPP, and Member of the Policy Formulation Committee on Social Empowerment
    3.    Dr. Anura Karunathilaka - Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, University of Kelaniya, National Executive Committee Member of the NPP, and Member of the Policy Formulation Committee
    4.    Professor Upali Pannilage - Former Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Ruhuna, National Executive Committee Member of the NPP, and Member of the Policy Formulation Committee
    5.    Eranga Udesh Weeraratne - CEO, Information Technology Engineer, Member of the IT Policy Formulation Committee of the NPP
    6.    Aruna Jayasekara - Retired Major General, Leader of the NPP Veterans Group
    7.    Dr. Harshana Suriyaweera - Company Director, Member of the NPP Economic Council
    8.    Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku - Naval Assistant Engineer, Operations Committee Member of the NPP Engineers Council
    9.    Punya Sri Kumara Jayakody - Engineer, Project Manager, National Executive Committee Member of the NPP
    10.    Ramalingam Chandrasekar - Former Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee, National Executive Committee Member of the NPP, and Jaffna District Organizer
