Suresh Salley and Saharan's involvement in the Easter bombings was proven by two committees. Both reports disappeared before Ranil left office..!

-Revealed by a special reporter for the Attorney General

(Lanka-e-News -30.Sep.2024, 10.45 pm)  Two committees appointed by former President Ranil Wickremesinghe to investigate the Easter attacks identified Major General Suresh Salley, Director of State Intelligence Service (SIS), and former SIS Director Senior Deputy Inspector General Nilanta Jayawardena as culprits. It was also proven that Salley, along with Asad Maulana, former media secretary for Pillayan, provided assistance to Saharan and his group in carrying out the attacks. The two met at a coconut estate in Puttalam. Furthermore, Salley had a long-standing secret relationship with Jameel, and phone records were uncovered by the committee. The investigations revealed that on the day of the attack, Salley made a phone call to Jameel’s phone, which was traced to the Taj Samudra Hotel. The call came from near the Rameswaram coastal area in South India. A senior official of the Attorney General's Department stated that these findings, along with reports containing crucial details of the violent attack, were confirmed.

Orders to destroy the reports…

Unfortunately, three weeks before the presidential election, orders were given by then-President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sagala Ratnayake to destroy both reports of the committees, rendering them unusable. Consequently, the reports have disappeared from the Attorney General's Department. Two days before their disappearance, Suresh Salley and Nilanta Jayawardena were summoned to Sagala Ratnayake's house on Mal Road, Colombo, where they had a four-hour meeting. Wickremesinghe also joined the discussion via phone.

The two missing reports…

One of the missing reports was from the committee appointed to verify the truth of the revelations made in the Channel 4 documentary about the Easter attacks. The second report was from the committee led by former judge Alwis, which was tasked with investigating whether correct intelligence information was given prior to the attacks, and if so, which institutions failed to take appropriate action.

Several parties, including the Archbishop, former Director of the Criminal Investigation Department Shani Abeysekara, Ministry of Public Security Secretary Ravi Seneviratne, and members of non-governmental organizations, have been pressuring for these reports to be made public. They believe the reports are crucial to uncovering the truth behind the Easter attacks and ensuring justice is served. Many hope that current President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will intervene and take steps to recover the missing reports and release them to the public.
