"Sajith's Broken Promises and the Betrayal of Justice for the Easter Attack - Sajith, Apologize to the Catholic People Immediately!"

(Lanka-e-News -17.Sep.2024, 11.20 pm) The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), led by Sajith Premadasa, who claimed to have sworn to Cardinal Ranjith that he would ensure justice for the Easter Sunday attacks and even presented a plan, has now become a network of corrupt criminals. These criminals and their supporters, who came to power after the Easter Sunday attacks under Gotabaya Rajapaksa, are now protected, making the SJB a den of corruption. Even before forming a government, the SJB is starting to reek of crime and corruption.

A recent example..

A recent example of this is the reappearance of Deshabandu Tennakoon, who was suspended from his post as Inspector General of Police (IGP) due to accusations related to the Easter Sunday attacks. Now, a monk from the Rajapaksa camp has appeared on Sajith's platform demanding his reinstatement. This must be explained clearly.

Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith filed a fundamental rights case in the Supreme Court, demanding that Deshabandu Tennakoon, identified as a criminal, not be reinstated even as a police constable, let alone as IGP. The Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter Sunday attacks had recommended disciplinary action against him, which was one of the reasons for the case. Other groups also filed human rights cases against Tennakoon.

On July 24, 2024, the Supreme Court issued an interim order preventing Deshabandu Tennakoon from functioning as IGP until the court's decision on the case. However, despite this order, President Ranil Rajapaksa seems to be ignoring it. Meanwhile, several monks from the Rajapaksa camp have taken to the streets demanding Tennakoon's reinstatement.

What is even more significant is that a group of monks, led by Dr. Agalakada Sirisumana, has filed a petition to the court asking to annul the interim order and dismiss the petitions filed by Cardinal Ranjith and others. According to them, Deshabandu Tennakoon is fit to be IGP. This information came to light through a letter from President’s Counsel Rienzie Arseculeratne to Cardinal Ranjith.

Hidden games of Sajith..

The hidden games of Sajith are being exposed. Agalakada Sirisumana, who argued in court that Tennakoon is fit to be IGP, recently appeared on Sajith's platform, stating that Sajith is the most suitable candidate for the presidency. Through these actions, Sajith has proven to the entire country that he is a liar and a promise-breaker even before the presidential election.

On one hand, Sajith promises justice to the Cardinal and the Catholic people for the Easter Sunday attacks, while on the other hand, he aligns himself with the supporters of the inhuman criminals behind the attacks, even allowing monks like these to appear on his platform. What does this prove about Sajith? It shows that he is not a man of integrity, cannot be trusted by the people or even his friends, and is a politician without a backbone who will do anything to win an election, no matter how deceitful.

Sajith, deceitful politician..

It is clear that Sajith will lose to Anura Kumara Dissanayake in the upcoming election. However, voters must ensure that deceitful politicians like Sajith are decisively defeated. Let us urge the Catholic voters, especially those who have gathered around Sajith after losing faith in Ranil, not to waste their valuable votes on liars and corrupt politicians. Instead, turn to the National People's Power (NPP), which is untainted by the masterminds and accomplices of the Easter Sunday attacks, including those in the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, Gas Cylinder Party, and Pohottuwa. Consider this carefully over the next few days.

Mujibur Rahuman of the SJB often speaks about justice for the Easter attacks, but what can legal professionals like Kavinda Makalanda say about someone like Sajith, who is such a deceitful politician with opposing stances? How can anyone believe that such a person will deliver justice for the Easter Sunday attacks? There is still time for you to choose the right path.
