SJB MP Marikkar Accused of Betraying His Party for Personal Gains.!

-By A Special Correspondent

(Lanka-e-News -03.Sep.2024, 9.00 pm)  Controversy has erupted within Sri Lanka’s political landscape as allegations surface against SJB MP Mujibur Rahman Marikkar, who is accused of betraying his party by seeking personal favors from President Ranil Wickremesinghe. According to rumors, a leaked video from the Wickremesinghe camp shows Marikkar in a discussion with the President, where they reportedly conspired against the National People's Power (NPP) party.

In the video, Marikkar allegedly outlines a strategy to question NPP MPs about how they use their salaries and car permits to fund their party, with the aim of tarnishing the NPP’s image. It is claimed that Wickremesinghe directed Marikkar to raise these questions both inside and outside Parliament, effectively turning him into a puppet of the President. This move is seen as a betrayal of the SJB, with Marikkar reportedly seeking a car permit as part of the deal.

The leak has also exposed a broader issue within the SJB, revealing that several senior party members, including Kabir Hashim, Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Lakshman Kiriella, Dr Harsha De Silva and Nalin Bandara, are allegedly working secretly with President Wickremesinghe. These revelations have led to growing distrust among voters, who are being urged to reconsider their support for the SJB. Critics argue that despite the SJB’s public criticism of Wickremesinghe, these secret dealings suggest that the party is collaborating with the President against the NPP, raising concerns about a potential SJB-UNP merger aimed at undermining the NPP.

As the presidential election approaches, voters are being called upon to vote strategically, keeping in mind SJB leader Sajith Premadasa is failed politician , and his team has secret dealings with President Ranil.
