Mohan Peiris CJ kneels before Maithri and Ranil : begs to give any judgment in their favor provided they extend his term

(Lanka-e-News- 13.Jan.2015, 2.23PM) The chief justice (CJ) Mohan Peiris (the cheat justice) who met the newly elected President Maithripala Sirisena and prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe within the the Medamulana premises has begged and pleaded with them that he would give any judicial decision in their favor if they would grant him time to continue as CJ until the 100 days proposed interim period of the newly elected government is completed.

This meeting took place at 9.00 yesterday night (12) .Maithri and Ranil had however told the CJ in no uncertain terms that the CJ they are looking for is not one who sides with them , but a CJ who would safeguard the independence of the judiciary duly, while pointing out that the appointment of Mohan Peiris and his subsequent official conduct had always been most reprehensible , and hence not only been resented but frowned upon by one and all. Therefore it is best he honorably tenders his resignation , before the people and the legal fraternity take to the streets against him which would be inevitable if he tries to cling on like a leech.

Thilak Marapone who was present at this meeting had also advised Peiris, in the circumstances the best course of action available is for him to resign at least safeguarding the little honor that is remaining in him. After these counseling the CJ had apparently left the venue as a sadder but wiser man but not wise enough to hand over his letter of resignation ,according to reports .

Incidentally ,it is this same cheat justice Mohan Peiris (CJ) , who crept into Medamulana on the 10 th to advise Mahinda Rajapakse that the latter can enter Parliament on the sly , to be the prime minister,Thereafter , become President after liquidating Maithri.

Sri Lanka needs a CJ who is apolitical not a another politician or a shameless actor. I have my doubts still because appointments are given based on political affiliations/personal patronage or on recommendation from someone. There is no proper procedure in place to call for applications by public advertisements etc. and decide the most suitable on merit. This is an open secret. Even former CJ 43rd was wrongly appointed and wrongly dismissed by impeachment. The silent learned who have no contacts at all get no opportunity. Country loses best talents. I do not know when equal opportunities available in this country. Now I hear interested individuals through so and so approach the ministers etc to get appointments. On one side Sri lanka Administrative Service which is another mafia like inefficient service seek to have a monopoly in the state services disregarding professionals. During the Rajapaksa regime even those over 60 years were given contracts to serve violating Establishments Code and other Circulars. Even now for example there are several high ranking officers working who are over 60 years. Officers though efficient are retired on the dot. New Ministers must look into this wrongs and take necessary action. It is good Mr. Weerkoon was appointed to be Secretary to the President but he must be objective without favouring SLAS officers alone when appointments are given. However we are on the watch. I voted for Mr. President Maithripala Sirisena. Good Governance means good people are appointed not the policy of "square Pegs in round Holes". No nepotism or family bandism or beware also not to appoint "Kanda panuwas" and Rajpaksa sympathizers in disguise.
