(Lanka-e-News -12.Oct.2015, 11.45AM) Former Eastern province chief minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanathan alias Pillayan was arrested in connection with the murder of Joseph Pararajasingham a former M.P.
When Pillayan who was summoned to the CID to record a statement, arrived yesterday , he was taken into custody by the CID after his statement was recorded.
Pararajasingham was murdered in cold blood by shooting in 2005 on Christmas day when he was engaged in religious observances.
Pillayan was a leader of child soldiers of the LTTE under Karuna and engaged in the LTTE war. His main task during that time was to rob vehicles , change their colors and send them to the LTTE’s fleet under LTTE administration. Thereafter, Karuna and Pillayan quit the LTTE . Subsequently , after joining with the Rajapakse regime , Pillayan played a key role in the contract murders for the regime. Owing to this , he was made chief minister by Rajapakse regime despite Pillayan’s abysmal illiteracy
