(Lanka-e-News -18.Sep.2015, 10.00PM) The ministry of digital and telcommunication was allocated to Harin Fernando despite there being other eligible candidates. This was because consideration was given to the amount of commitment showed and the sacrifices made by him in the efforts to drive away the Rajapakses , as well as his ability to discharge the tasks entrusted to him.
Those who view the photograph herein therefore might conclude that Harin is putting his arm around a friend of his who collaborated with him to oust the Rajapakse regime, and also because Hirunika Premachandra who rejected the Rajapakse regime is in this photograph.
Sadly , that view is erroneous. Harin in fact has put his arm around a most infamous unscrupulous wheeler dealer who ran a separate clandestine office inside the Temple trees dedicating his whole interests to rescue the brutal corrupt Rajapakses even as Harin and Hirunika were devoting their entire efforts and time to throw out the Rajapakse regime lock, stock and barrel.
The name of this scoundrel is Dilruk Wanasinghe ,the owner of ‘Imi mobile’ illicit deal Co.
When Shamindra Rajapakse the brother of Sashindra Rajapakse was the Director of Sri Lanka Telecom , it was Dilruk who put through shady deals for the Rajapakses.It is on this account Dilruk during the Rajapakse rescue manipulations , was residing in the Temple trees , and was allocated an office therein.
Dilruk having now became so close to Harin (borne testimony to by the photograph) is certainly not for the good of the country , Harin , or SL Telecom. Simply that Dilruk wants to start his monumental illicit wheeler dealer activities together with Harin from where he stopped with Shamindra Rajapakse .Harin being an ignoramus in respect of these sordid deals may not be aware of the evil motives.
We can on our part only issue the warning : a cabinet minister must know where to draw his line , and understand on whose shoulder he must put his arm around. . A minister cannot expect to be spoon fed. If Harin feels he must be spoonfed , it is best and safe if he seeks that from his own prime minister , a senior and matured politician.
Sri Lanka is a country where its politicans are a peculiar breed. They have split personalities like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Before being elected they have one attitude , and another after they are elected. Some appear to be reborn after victory, while others become corpses , turning silent as the grave and serving none.
Lanka e news will not allow youthful politicos like Harin who are not backboneless , full of potential and with a bright future to ruin their political career owing to association with wheeler dealers , racketeers and rascals. At the same time we shall not stand idle and silently watch a politico to do what he wants at his will and pleasure after winning on the votes of the people while inspiring in them all the hopes of fulfilment of their aspirations . Some self seeking politicos assume that the people who voted them into power are no longer alive, and therefore they can most selfishly pursue their dastardly personal ambitions and self centered agendas at the expense of national interests.
