(Lanka-e-News- 20.Sep.2014, 8.30PM) Deputy Ministers Arundhika Fernando ,Hemal Gunasekera and Saran Gunawardena who traveled from Colombo have launched a fierce assault on Chaminda Wijesiri the UNP mayor for Bandarawela while they were within the Bandarawela police station. The victim who sustained injuries was admitted to Badulla hospital.
These deputy Ministers who had come in black defender vehicles have been intimidating and threatening the UNP voters and chasing them away at the polling centers , when the UNP mayor along with the voters had gone to the police station to lodge a complaint. The three deputy Ministers had then stormed into the police station and assaulted the UNP mayor .Eye witnesses revealed, they saw there were hoodlums from Tangalla with the deputy Ministers . The public who were naturally and justifiably provoked had retaliated by attacking the vehicles of the Ministers.

Meanwhile Hambantota ‘toy pistol mayor’ alias joker Eraj Fernando was seen intimidating and harassing the voters of Moneragala , and chasing them away from the polling booths, as reported by our LeN correspondents.
