(Lanka-e-News -18.Dec.2015, 9.30AM) President Maithripala Sirisena and his team that went to Rome’s Vatican city to pay homage to his holiness the Pope and St. Basilica , had forgotten to visit or pay homage to the Buddhist Vihara in Rome, the pro good governance Buddhists living in Rome speaking to Lanka e news via phone pointed out this omission with deep regret
When not a single priest or incumbent of a Temple , Kovil or church in Europe came forward to install Maithripala Sirisena of remote Polonnaruwa in the exalted presidential throne ,and the UNP government of good governance in power , the prelate of Rome Vihara , Ven. Molligoda Dheerananda Thera along with the pro good governance people did his might to bring them into power. Yet sadly , neither the president nor the UNP leaders who arrived with him in Rome did not visit the Rome Vihara or pay homage to the Ven. Thera , the disappointed Buddhists bemoaned.
The Sri Lankan Buddhists in Rome lamented , the UNP politicos who accompanied the president being non Buddhists , perhaps could have forgotten , but Maithripala and his wife being Buddhists forgetting to pay homage is most regrettable and reprehensible .
A Sri Lankan who frequents the Rome Vihara speaking to Lanka e news had this comment to make :
When those who worked with commitment for the victory of good governance even risking their lives are marginalized , and a good for nothing hanger on like Abeykoon who did all the sordid biddings for the Rajapakse regime until the end is made a presidential secretary ; a worthless nitwit like Shiral Lakthileke discarded by the UNP , and who is bitterly hostile to good governance and shot himself on the main road for the sake of Rajapakse and Kili Maharaja is made the coordinating secretary ; and the bloke who tried to poison Ven.Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera ,and a lackey of Mahinda Rajapakse is appointed as a minister through the national list , it is no big issue for such a president who commits all those traitorous blunders, to forget to meet the Ven. Thera or pay homage at the Buddhist Vihara in Rome even after going so close , and it is only a fool who would expect better behavior from him . On the other hand expecting such an ungrateful president to express his gratitude to those he truly should is also most foolish , he added with a hearty laugh.

One can neither blame the gamaraala from Pollonnaruwa nor The GGG (Good Governance Gang). They did what people usually do when in Roman like all other Romans do - pay tribute to His Holiness the Pope at The Vatican State which is a state by itself.
