(Lanka-e-News- 14.Nov.2015, 7.45PM) Following a number of terrorist attacks launched at midnight on the city of Paris , 168 civilians have lost their lives, 180 injuered, the government of France revealed. Three suicide bomb attacks , bomb explosions and gun firing took place at three places . The theatre hall at Bataclan was worst affected by the attack.
After those who were in the Bataclan theatre hall were held to ransom by the terrorists , the victims were gunned down .Police said , there were three terrorists wearing suicide jackets at the place . 128 civilians died at this hall while 40 civilians died at other places, according to French official reports.
The three suicide bomb attackers who attacked the dance hall had also died . In all 5 terrorists have died , according to French police sources. At the Paris national playground , a friendly football match was being played at the time of the attack.. There had been a huge explosion even around that venue. There was also shooting within a restaurant.
A tense emergency situation prevailed across Paris , and about 1500 additional soldiers have been deployed .All borders of Paris have been closed. However flights are not affected. This attack is considered as the worst faced by Paris after the second world war. There are a number of Sri Lankans in Paris , but so far there are no reports of any Sri Lankan casualties. The City mayor of Paris notified the residents to stay indoors.
Governments of America , Germany and Britain while condemning this brutal attack have expressed their shock and deep sorrow over this incident.

It is specially noteworthy, despite there being massive media freedom in France, the reporters of the media acted with retsraint . They did not make reports that could cause panic and pandemonium among the people . The photographers too did not behave like madcap characters.
