(Lanka-e-News- 18.Oct.2015, 8.45AM) The aborted biggest bribery payment in cash in Sri Lanka ‘s history amounting to Rs.125 million was today displayed (the pile of cash) before the media by the commissioner for bribery and corruption Ms.Dilrukshi Dias Wickremesinghe .In the photograph is that pile of cash.
Meanwhile , she also ordered that the three suspects namely ,Jagath Gunatileke –the Deputy Director , Customs; M.D.U.P. Perera –the assistant Director, Customs ; and Sudheera Parakrama Jinadasa – the Cusoms Authority be remanded until the 30 th on which day they are to be produced in court.
The Bribery and corruption commission further revealed that two more Customs officers are still to be arrested.The three culprits apprehended were trying to hide their faces from the cameras(the photographs depict).
‘Where there is Dil, there can be no illicit deal’ is how the appreciative public fondly extolled Dilrukshi for her competence and efficiency
