(Lanka-e-News -25.Aug.2015, 11.30PM) The formation of a united government has hit a crisis.
The most abhorred villain, a senior SLFP er Nimal Siripala De Silva , who is noted for creating mischief even to the detriment of the entire nation by his underhand manipulations and machinations has scuttled the efforts of president Maithripala , the leader of the SLFP and the prime minister who leads the UNF to unite and resolve the grave national issues .The historic decision taken by them to continue with a united government at least for two years has been sabotaged by this roly poly villain.
This satanic villain has first asked for the post of deputy prime minister. To this Ranil Wickremesinghe has replied , as there is no provision in the constitution for such a post , and if such a post is to be created that can be done only via the proposed new constitution.
The P.M. has also advised Nimal Siripala well noted as the best illustration of the inverse relationship between brain and brawn power that if he wishes to have a legal opinion on this to discuss with the justice minister Dr. Wijedasa Rajapakse. Nimal Siripala the devil incarnate instead of discussing with the justice minister has gone around meeting the SLFP M.P.s and instructing them not to support the united government.
Nimal Siripala who is disappointed over his failure to get himself appointed as the deputy P.M. has informed the president not to accept portfolios , and they should remain in the opposition , extending support whenever needed. This is a diabolic plot to sabotage the UNF’s five year term of government, with the hope of forming an SLFP government led by the president.
In the past , the UNP government that was installed with Ranil Wickremesinghe as the P.M. was dissolved in two years taking advantage of the presidential powers . Nimal Sirpala must have reminded president Maithripala about this and how a UPFA government was installed again. But now under the 19 th amendment the president has no powers to dissolve a government after two years.
It is the same self seeking ,self centered opportunistic Nimal Siripala De Silva who also obstructed and opposed the incorporation of the ‘abolition of executive presidency’ clause into the UNP –SLFP memorandum of understanding.
It is very clear Nimal Siripala who is defeated on people’s votes is trying to sabotage the people elected government and is conducting himself as an anti national villain and an enemy of the people all because he could not gratify his selfish self seeking desire -secure the deputy P.M. post.
While Nimal Siripala is seeking to give priority to his selfish personal agendas and evil ambitions subordinating national interests traitorously , the UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe on the other hand who said a united government shall be formed prior to the elections , and who won on a clear majority at the elections , when expressing his views to the Hindu newspaper, in profound contrast spoke most patriotically having the people and the country at heart...
He said : ''We decided that wouldn’t be the way. We could have got ten or fifteen people over from the other side but then again, it would have put the President in a very, very embarrassing position. But if we could cooperate with the SLFP, that was far more advantageous to us than getting fifteen of them over. Because we are trying to set a national framework for at least the next ten years. We didn’t have an overall majority in Parliament. But then we had to have a working system. We have tremendous issues to resolve, more than our personal or political rivalries. Instead of shouting at who was responsible, let’s see how we get out of where we are.''
