Contempt of court : ‘Throw the court verdicts into the garbage bin’ Lawyer Dilan Perera mocks courts

(Lanka-e-News- 16.Aug.2015, 4.30PM)  Dilan Perera on 14th referring to the injunction order issued by the district court following a petition filed by acting secretaries Professor Warnapala and Duminda Dissanayake of the UPFA  , and their appointment to those posts replacing Susil Premajayantha UPFA general secretary and Anura Yapa general secretary SLFP , speaking derogatorily in a manner that constitutes contempt of court said , the court is a place where conspiracies are hatched , while adding that court decisions only deserve a place in the garbage bins.

A number of legal luminaries who were shocked by  these utterances most derogatory and defamatory of courts speaking to  Lanka e news lamented , Dilan Perera despite being a lawyer himself speaking so contemptuously regarding  courts is most reprehensible.

Dilan Perera made these outrageous comments when he made a statement to Hiru channel yesterday as media spokesman of SLFP.

“The courts became  part of a conspiracy. We don’t give a damn for court decisions, and they are not valid. This court verdict must be hurled into the garbage bin….” said Dilan Perera.

It is well to recall, simply  because S.B.Dissanayake said ‘no matter what decisions are delivered by courts we do not care for them,’  he had to be in jail , and his civic rights were abrogated .The  legal luminaries in the backdrop of lawyer Dilan Perera’s defamatory satements , are questioning what is militating against Dilan Perera being sent to jail and meted out a worse punishment for the utter contempt and  disrespect he showed towards the independent judiciary ?
