(Lanka-e-News- 10.Aug.2015, 11.30PM) The UPFA is apparently in a frenzy with the election defeat staring on their faces. This is vividly demonstrated by the theatrics, the UPFA resort to at the press briefings. On one occasion vials of poison are brought before the media and offer it to the Venerable Maha Sanga suggesting that they should consume the poison and kill themselves.
The latest drama of this type is the display of empty pots. It only portrays the chagrin the UPFA is driven to, because today the UPFA is relegated to an empty vessel. So it is very fitting that they chose to display their emptiness by exhibiting empty pots at the UPFA media briefing.
I would like to categorically state with a great sense of responsibility that there is no Cabinet Paper presented to sell the water resources of the country or to levy taxes on natural flows of water; be it a canal, a stream or rain water as stated by the Kurunegala District candidate Mahinda Rajapaksa. These are only baseless false utterances made by power hungry politicians. Incidentally, they are the very same rulers who ordered the killing of innocent people when they asked that they be given pure water to drink.
Mahinda Rajapaksa who utters lies about a sale of water resources is the prime culprit to be blamed for polluting the country’s water resources. He seems to have forgotten that he is responsible for importing substandard-fertiliser containing hazardous chemicals injurious to people’s health. It resulted in subjecting millions of people as victims of the kidney disease, now prevalent largely in many parts of the country. Dialyzers are needed to treat these patients but only 260 had been supplied during that period.
There is no alternative program to the action plan presented by the UNP for building a new country in 60 days. The UPFA is only deceiving the people by uttering falsehood. Gobbels is noted as the biggest dealer in false propaganda in the recent history but the UPFA media spokesmen have become bigger liars. They have even surpassed and outdone King Chethiya known to us as the biggest liar.
Mahinda Rajapaksa has proved by action that he would resort to any mean level for the sake of grabbing power. He has left the people of Hambantota and fled to Kurunegala which is ample proof of his meanness. It is during the Rajapaksa period of rule that pledges were dishonored. He reigned with falsehood and deceit. The people rejected and defeated this system of rogue politics on the 8th of January. It must be clearly noted that Rajapaksas cannot rise again and re-establish their dirty administration by engaging in dramatic performances.
