Two dead so far in shooting incident targeting Ravi : Bankrupt politicos must stop camouflaging true picture

(Lanka-e-News -04.Aug.2015, 9.00PM) In the most brutal  shooting incident at Bloemendahl road when bullets were sprayed from the guns of the assassins into a crowd of supporters of ex minister Ravi Karunanayake targeting the ex minister ,a victim by the name of Sampath who was receiving treatment at the intensive care unit died yesterday. It was falsely publicised that this Sampath is’army Sampath’ who is an underworld leader.

The deceased is 30 years old Bulathsinghala Niroshan Sampath, a resident of Grandpass. He died this dawn at 3.50. He is an innocent youth who was engaged in the trade of selling coir mats and carpets , and his name has not been reorded in any police registers as having been involved in criminal attacks.

Another five critically injured casualties who were victims of this politically motivated brutal ruthless attack are still being treated at intensive care unit of the general hospital , Colombo. Among them is a woman. While this is a tragedy of alarming proportions that adversely affects  the security of all innocent and law abiding people , which is  an evil fallout of  merciless political agendas and murderous motives of notorious Rajapakses who going by the horrid antecedence would even commit genocide if that would only serve their fell foul evil power greed and political goals, to suggest that this is an underworld operation with a view to falsely fasten the blame entirely on the under world gangs is a most reprehensible and abominable move, deserving  worst condemnation , for  such a move is to put the whole nation in peril and their innocent lives at stake , and  is tantamount to supporting the true political criminals and shielding these political  ‘manimals’.

During the disucussion that was held by the Elections commissioner yesterday , Dilan Perera asked from the IGP who was also present whether underworld gangs were responsible for  this attack ? The IGP ‘s direct and unequivocal answer was , there is no evidence so far to substantiate that claim.

Meanwhile Ravi Karunanayake who convened a media briefing yesterday lamented , it is on the poor innocent father of three children who was subsisting on selling coir mats and carpets , the heartless villainous opposition was fastening the name falsely of underworld criminal  ‘Army Sampath’ and making a din  in order to camouflage the true picture to accomplish their selfish political objectives.

So far following this ruthless shooting down of innocents, two victims have died. The victim who died today is a father of three children. It is very obvious that politicans like Thilanga Sumathipala and Dilan Perera are trying to link this to an underworld attack. Even from our side some had expressed the same view as the  opposition. They are trying to identify Sampath who died and whose children are now fatherless ,as the criminal  ‘Army Sampath.’ These bankrupt politicians have also concocted an underworld name and linked it to the incident  . If Dilan and Thilanga  are so cock sure , why not they  reveal the details to the police?

‘I am also a father of three children . I know well how hurt are the children and how mentally depressed  they become when a father is maligned this way.

Even the IGP is categorically saying the police have still not issued  a  statement  that this incident is connected with underworld criminals. Then , who are those making these false announcements? The media too have a very grave responsibility to publish the truth impartially  .It is not just splashing ludicous and ridiculous stories across the news pages ,related by bankrupt  and villainous politicos,’ Ravi Karunanayake emphasized with concern.
