(Lanka-e-News -04.July.2015, 11.30PM) Before the UPFA consents to granting nomination to Mahinda Rajapakse, the SLFP must agree to that , and such a decision cannot be taken offending the majority including opposition leader ,Chandrika Bandaranaike and Nimal Siripala De Silva , minister Arjuna Ranatunge pointed out. Through his facebook he has informed the people , and the truth will declare itself , the minister added.
Minister Arjuna ‘s statement is hereunder :
''The most ludicrous part of this spurious drama is, the individual who said nomination has been given to Mahinda, today itself berating a poor journalist , ‘ do not provoke me to utter filth’ was his answer in a fit of rage.
The letter is only a copy , and the original was sent to the president.As the latter has refused to sign this letter , this individual had signed it.Because there is a file against this individual pertaining to a fraud committed by him during the Rajapakse era , and he is fearing this would be exposed that he is stooping to the lowliest of levels to do the sordid biddings of the Rajapakse family rule , and please them.
Truly , if the consent of the UPFA is to be secured , the consent of the SLFP must be there.'
This was a decision taken jointly by Wimal , Gammanpila, Vasu, Tissa and Dinesh . A majority including Chandrika , and opposition leader , as well as the main section of the SLFP have not concurred in this. In any event the truth will declare itself in the future.''
