(Lanka-e-News- 01.July.2015, 11.30PM) Thushara Devalegama a main supporter of minister Thalatha Atukorale was assaulted by a group yesterday night , and finally killed. This murder took place at Deiyanne Dela , Thoragallewatte , Ratnapura.
When the victim was travelling in a motor cycle while being engaged in the election publicity of the minister , a group that crossed his path had attacked him leading to his death.Thushara is 37 years old ,and a father of three children. At the moment his remains lay at the morgue of Ratnapura hospital.
A few hours after the parliament was dissolved , several huge cutouts of former UNP M.P. Ms. Chandrani Bandara that were on display at Auradhapura town had been damaged by an organized group.
In Kurunegala town ,several cutouts with photogaphs of former UNP M.P.Asoka abeysinghe and prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe too were cut and damaged .
Yesterday night , the supporters of the UNP at the center of Mahiyangana town who were peacefully engaged in pasting posters were attacked brutally . Consequently, a UNP supporter who sustained injuries was admitted to Mahiyangana base hospital where he is receiving treatment.A 32 years old youth H.A. Ajith Kumara , a resident of Sorabora, Meegahapitiya also sustained injuries following the assault .
It is to be specially noted that all these violence had been unleashed only on the UNP.
