27 suspects including monks charged with contempt of court – police anticipating complaint regarding national flag

(Lanka-e-News- 24.April.2015, 11.30PM)  27 ‘slaves  of thieves’ including MPs and ministers who staged demonstrations in front of the Bribery and corruption commission ,at Baudhaloka mawatha in defiance of court order against it thereby  committing the offence of contempt of court were  noticed to appear in court on 8 th May by the Colombo chief magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.

The court issued an injunction order the previous day on a request made by the Cinnamon gardens police  , prohibiting processions and demonstrations in order to avert violence and breach of peace in front of the bribery and corruption commission  on the 23 rd , the day ex defense secretary appeared before the commission. Yet , Gammanpila even after being aware of this order though the media made announcements inviting the crowds. The Derana channel too  gave media publicity to this despite being aware of the order . Consequently , the idler groups who know nothing better than create mayhem , and whose  present favorite preoccupation is stoking violence staged protests despite the court order  the following day. 

In accordance with the court order , the monks ,Muruthetuwe Ananda, Medagoda Abayatissa , Bengamuwe Nalaka, Galagoda Athe Gnanassara , Vitharandeniyenanda , Ahungalle Jinananda Biyagama Susila, Vatinapaha Somananda ,Iththekande Sadhatissa ;  parliamentarians , Dallas Alahaperuma , Janaka Priyantha Bandara , Sarath Weerasekera, Roshan Ranasinghe, Jayantha Ketagoda,  

Uditha Lokubandara ,Gamini Lokuge ,Bandula Gunawardena, S.M. Chandrasena and Weera Kumara Dissanayake ; Western provincial council chief minister Prasanna Ranatunge, Provincial council members Udaya Gammanpila and Roger Seneviratne , Janaka Kumara , Sunila Jayamini,Upali Kodikara , Madhu Madhawa Aravinda  and Ajantha Liyanage , were the ‘slaves of thieves ‘  of the Alibaba den of crooks noticed to appear in court on the 8 th.

When Lanka e news inquired from the police media spokesman as to what action is being contemplated against those who falsified the national flag , he replied , so far no one has made a complaint in that regard to the police., and  a complaint is received , the same police action that was taken at Kandy in a previous incident  will be followed  in this case too , he added.

Responding to our query regarding the action taken at Kandy , the police media spokesman said ,the videos and photographs pertaining to it along with a report were forwarded to the magistrate .After the files were sent to the Attorney general’s department , his instructions are now awaited. 

In the circumstances some individual   or organization should immediately take steps to lodge a complaint with the police in regard to the falsification  of the national flag

While making modification of the National Flag is against the law, why does police need someone to COMPLAIN, in order to take action? Isn't the action itself is enough to take action?? The incident happened in front of all the police officers, as well as the Media, which has plenty of witnesses(Police Officers) as well as video proofs.
