(Lanka-e-News- 16.April.2015, 11.30PM) In connection with the corruption at the CSN (Carlton sports network) network channel supposedly belonging to Yoshitha Rajapakse , its initial chief executive officer (CEO) Nishantha Ranathunga was interrogated for a long period by the police special financial crime investigation (SFCI )division.
The SFCI division questioned Ranathunga on the tax frauds committed by the CSN ; the corruption involved in the cricket telecasts ; the misuse of facilities and resources of ITN a government Institution , by CSN ; and about the actual owners of CSN . The investigation was based on a complaint made by Ananda Wijepala to the SFCIB (Special financial crime investigation bureau).
From morning 9.30 until 2.30 in the afternoon , Ranathunga ‘s statement was recorded by the SFCIB .
With the defeat of Mahinda Rajapakse , over 100 employees who were working at the CSN were dismissed, and today , after summoning only about 10 to 15 employees , the previous services were resumed. So far nor programs have been produced, and at the moment there is no CEO too
