Queen Elizabeth expresses awe and amazement at the salutary change in SL -Minister Wijedasa from London

(Lanka-e-News- 27.Feb.2015, 8.30PM) Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain had expressed her  awe ,  amazement and delight  at the  manner in which the new minority government of Sri Lanka (SL)  is carrying on its Parliament   after the victory at the Presidential elections with a two third majority yielding  to the wishes of the people , while highlighting   that  this is a novel experience  in Democracy, the  minister of justice of SL  Wijedasa Rajapakse who is on an official tour  of Britain speaking to Lanka e news revealed.

The minister of justice is in Britain to participate in an  international conference  of  ministers  of justice  and attorney generals of 110 countries. Nearly 70 justice ministers are attending the conference while the attorney generals make up the balance.

When the Queen Elizabeth 11, hosted a dinner at the Buckingham palace on the 23 rd for the ministers of justice and attorney generals , she spent a long time with Wijedasa Rajapkse and his group engaging them in a cordial  discussion.

Incidentally ,SL  President Maithripala Sirisena who brought about these welcome changes is scheduled to tour Britain on  7th March . The Queen had revealed that she is looking forward  to meeting  the President on the 11 th. Rajapakse stated , the Queen who is past 88 years of age is fully aware of the present situation and the developments in Sri Lanka ,  going by  her discussions .

The British deputy minister of justice Shailesh Wara and himself had bilateral discussions , when Wara had expressed his pleasant shock over the change that overtook SL ,  Minister Wijedasa further noted.

In the meantime , the minister told Lanka e news that while he is abroad , the JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake had made some foolish comments against him without an understanding of the actual facts. A video tape answer to him has been sent from London in this connection , he disclosed. The video footage can be viewed at the end of the report .

Anura Dissanayake has alleged that minister Rajapakse got the passport for Avant Garde owner to travel abroad . This is a false allegation the minister declared ,while adding that he did not sit as the  magistrate . When Avant Garde owners told court that they wanted  to go overseas to sign a contract which will bring in a revenue of US dollars 300 million for the country , the magistrate after weighing the pros and cons released the passport , and that he (minister Rajapakse ) had nothing to do with it, the minister  pinpointed.

If Anura Dissanayake is trying to suggest that the minister of justice  of SL is interfering with the courts , it is tantamount to contempt of court , and Dissanayake ‘ s allegations are to  achieve cheap political mileage , the minister noted.

When the President and the Prime minister inquired from him about the legal implications pertaining to the floating armory, at the cabinet meeting as well  as  the national constitutional council (which Dissanayake also participated) , he had given his legal explanation and the background .  Despite it , Dissanayake making these comments is something most regrettable , Wijedasa Rajapakse pointed out  .

The video footage of Wijedasa Rajapakse is hereunder

Country cannot have any armed group except for armed forces. Such a group can be used for nefarious activities.
