(Lanka-e-News -12.Dec.2014, 10.00PM) A smaller version of FEM aircraft Antonov 32 belonging to the Sri Lanka Air force (SLAF) crashed into a rubber land , Horahena at Wanaguru mawatha , Malabe , at about 6.15 a.m. There had been four passengers in it , and the accident had occurred when it was flying from Katunayake to Ratmalana, according to reports.
Three bodies of the dead were taken out from the aircraft while one other passenger who had escaped death was taken by the residents to hospital. The residents have also doused the flames which engulfed the aircraft.
It is reported that a special team of high ranking officers were to travel in this aircraft today to participate in the golf tournament that was to be held at the China harbor today .
After the crashing of a Japanese aircraft during the second world war, when that plane fell into a tank(wewa) in the vicinity of Wewahena , Hokandara , this is the second such accident the people of that area witnessed.
