The shining star of the world of Sinhala music and an incomparable national asset has faded away. It is doubtful whether the void created could ever be filled. Maestro Amaradeva entertained us with his captivating music for over five decades. In spite of the great heights he had risen to, he had always been very humble and unassuming. His contribution to Sinhala music is unmatched. He will always be cherished as the greatest musician the country has ever produced. May he attain the supreme bliss of Nibbana.
