(Lanka-e-News 13.Oct.2016, 8.00PM) Following the odious ‘cyanide capsule’ speech of the president , the latter and Prime Minister (P.M.) were to hold special meeting tonight at 7.00 . The P.M. this morning had not been startled by the president’s speech, it is learnt.
Meanwhile the civil and professional organizations that extended support to MaithripalaSirisena to make him the president had a preliminary discussion today in preparation for their media discussion tomorrow (14). The representatives of the movement for just society , the Citizens Front Force and other organizations particpated.
According to reports , a group of leaders of the civil organizations have decided to resign the posts they were given by the president in order to lodge their protests against the statements made by him which were directly intimidating and pressurizing the independent commission, the Police commission and the court actions.
