(Lanka-e-News -24.May.2016, 8.00PM) Rajapakse education and cultural center members Willie Gamage , its secretary and Ariyaratne Dasanayake its treasurer linked to the financial irregularities committed by Basil Rajapakse pertaining to the property of his at Oruthota , Gampaha were taken into custody and enlarged on bail this morning by Gampaha additional magistrate Lalith Kannangara subject to stringent bail conditions.
Willie Gamage was functioning as the secretary of the ministry of State resources and enterprise development during the last nefarious decade , as well as the secretary to Basil Rajapakse while Dasanayake was the chairman of the Sri Lanka national Savings Bank .
The additional magistrate imposed stringent bail conditions comprising a cash bail of Rs. 50,000.00 and two surety bails in sums of Rs. 4 million each. In addition the accused were ordered to appear at the FCID every last day of the month.
However since both the accused could not fulfill the bail conditions , they were taken to Mahara prison and remanded. They will be incarcerated until they can meet the bail conditions.
A senior lawyer speaking to Lanka e news said , since this is a financial irregularity linked to a property , bail can be granted.
It seems the government of good governance had accelerated its legal processes towards arrest of the crooks and culprits of the Medamulana nefarious decade amidst allegations made by the people for good governance that the good governance government is slack in that direction. It is learnt this week several more rogues are to be arrested, police sources revealed.
