Dialog’s Reeri yaka policy : phone lines of its customers cut when they are in despair following national disaster !

(Lanka-e-News- 19.May.2016, 11.30PM) The Dialog Co. noted for its  rapacious greed has acted like the greedy ‘Reeri yaka’ (mad devil) by cutting off the telephone lines of its customers (their only source of communication) citing ‘non payment’  at a most crucial period when the coutry was struck by tragedy of alarming proportions owing to natural disasters  , and at a time when people were panicking and using their mobile phones most. Lanka e news is deluged by complaints received from across the whole country.

Such a cruel and wicked measure is  never taken in any other civilized country in such a dire situation of such magnitude. In other words when the country is in dire peril and the devastated people are unable to pay the phone bills in their desperation , the Dialog Co. has like the vulture taken advantage of the national tragedy to prey on death and despair. Being a grave lapse on the part of the Co. in the circumstances ,the government ought to take this seriously and consider as a punishable indiscretion because those who were  affected and afflicted at that moment were  depending on the communication lines , for there were instances where one phone call was all that remained between life and death of the affected casualty.

A number of people who suffered acutely and abysmally owing to this most inhumane policy and maha reeri yakka action of Dialog had lodged their complaints with us. We also request others who suffered similarly at the hands of other mobile phone  companies too to intimate their woes to us.
