(Lanka-e-News -24.March.2016, 11.00PM) A tea party was organized at the Temple Trees this morning (24) coinciding with prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s 67th Birthday.
The president Maithripala Sirisena participated in the celebration , fed a piece of cake to the ‘B’day boy’ ”Ranil Wickremesinghe , and the latter too fed the president with a piece of cake. (Perhaps both know very well neither is in the habit of biting the hand that feeds!)
Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge , a former president , Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka and many parliamentarians were present to wish the P.M. on the occasion.
The P.M. along with his wife , Professor Mrs. Maithri Wickremesinghe received the guests . The P.M. in the facebook as his Birthday wish made the following comment .
‘Kiribath (milk rice) is a symbol of prosperity. That prosperity cannot be created by one or two individuals. It must be something that should be brought about by a nation and the country together . To build that prosperity among the Sri Lankan nation is my birthday wish’

Well and good about biting the hand that feeds.We all remember what happened after a famous hopper feed at Temple Trees before the last nationwide presidential elections took place.What about the fact that you can't eat the cake and have the cake at the same time? At the same time if MaRa had gate crashed into the party at the old home-sweet-home run by state funds, he would have, being a 200 per cent true patriot, lamented about cake being served instead av konda kevum or shall we say rewul kevum.
