(Lanka-e-News- 10.March.2016, 8.45 PM) The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has called for explanation from the infamously famous Colombo additional magistrate Thilina Gamage better known as ‘Ali hora’ (elephant rogue) who strode like a colossus during the Rajapakse era despite committing all the illegalities including the robbery of an elephant calf.
The Commission has called for an explanation in regard to his visit based on a court order to the elephant orphanage at Pinnawala armed with a weapon to see by force the elephant calf he reared unlawfully .
Meanwhile the Fundamental rights petition filed by Gamage in the Supreme court (SC) to avert his being arrested following investigation into his unlawful detention of the elephant calf was dismissed by the SC yesterday .
The three judges bench including Eva Wanasundara who heard the petition dismissed it . In the petition , the CID, IGP and Attorney General were cited as respondents.
