(Lanka-e-News -21.Feb.2016, 11.30PM) The three complaints in respect of the cases that were filed against Dr . Shiranee Bandaranaike a former chief justice (CJ) by the Rajapakse regime obviously to achieve its vindictive objectives directed against her , were withdrawn 19th by the commission inquiring into allegations of bribery and corruption. Based on this withdrawal the courts exonerated and acquitted her of all charges.
When these cases were taken up for hearing by the Colombo magistrate court , the State counsel Dilan Ratnayake who appeared on behalf of the Attorney General (AG) stated , after duly considering the submissions made by the defendants , these cases are being withdrawn.
Accordingly, the chief magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya declared the former CJ Shiranee Bandaranaike is exonerated and acquitted of all charges ,while also ordering to release the passport to her that was in the custody of the court.
Shiranee Bandaranaike delivered a judgment when she was the CJ that the bill to bring the Samurdhi funds under the solitary control of Basil Rajapakse cannot be passed without a referendum. Following this judgment the corrupt Rajapakse regime , a byword for lawlessness flew into a fit of rage and bore a grudge against her. Thereafter based on a hearing by the grade 9 qualified moron Wimal Weerawansa , the notorious passport fraudster and those of his inferior calber, she was dismissed from the post of CJ on a Kekille court verdict.
During that period when the impeachment motion was brought against her , the former CJ bravely and boldly stood her ground and opposed the villainous , lawless and corrupt Rajapakses . The latter who were hell bent on teaching a lesson to her therefore made dastardly and despicable moves to get her jailed by implicating her in a frame up alleging that she had not declared her assets duly.
Today , by the court declaring her innocence lawfully has proved that the lawless Rajapakses are guilty of taking revenge unlawfully on the former CJ because she did not give in to their unlawful actions and machinations.
