First visit of a Norway foreign minister after 2005 !
(Lanka-e-News -07.jan.2016, 10.15AM) With the advent of the government of good governance Sri Lanka’s (SL) international relationships are once again blooming. The influx of foreign state leaders and Diplomats has risen tremendously day by day. This is a good omen for the country .
Today (07) , another State leader , the foreign minister of Norway , Børge Brende is scheduled to arrive in SL .He is a high profile member of the present ruling conservative party of Norway, and is the managing director of the world economic forum.
The last time a Norway foreign minister visited SL was as far back as 2005 , and during the Rajapakse barbaric reign , never did a foreign minister of Norway pay a visit to SL.
While Brende is in SL,he is scheduled to meet with president Maithripala , Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe , former president Chandrika Bandaranaike and opposition leader Sambanthan .He is also to participate in SL’s financial council meetings.
