| Police visits Lanka E News office |

(Lanka-e-News, 2008 Jan 14, 6.30 PM) Assistant Superintendent of Police Nuwan Wedasinghe and Inspector Iddamalgoda of Colombo Crime Division came to Lanka-e-News office today (14) to question on a Lanka-e-News report on January 02 that said the suspected assassin of UNP MP T. Maheswaran was earlier attached to Minister Douglas Devananda's security and the Ministerial Security Division.
The police officials said that the investigations had not revealed that fact and said they wanted to know more information regarding the news. Lanka-e-News replied that Minister Keheliya Rambukwella later verified the same information to BBC Sandeshaya that Lanka-e-News received.
The officials who remained in the office for more than one and half hours questioning said replying to a Lanka-e-News question that Police is expecting DNA reports since the suspects finger prints and the finger prints on the revolver had not matched. |
