| Inauspicious impeachment handed over at auspicious time -117 MPs sign it |

(Lanka-e-News- 01.Nov.2012, 10.30PM) The impeachment motion bearing 117 signatures taken during the last several days was handed over to the Speaker of Parliament at 10.12 a.m. – exactly at the auspicious time ! This was handed over to the Speaker at his official residence by MPs Arundhitha Fernando, Lasantha Alagiyawanna and Shantha Bandara . It is alleged in the impeachment that the CJ had indulged in inequities. It is learnt that 117 Parliamentary members have signed this.
Cabinet spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella when announcing the Cabinet decisions at the media briefing this evening (1) stated , for an impeachment motion only 75 MPs will have to sign , but in this case, so far more than that number have signed.
