 (Lanka-e-News -16.Oct.2012, 11.55PM) UNP Gen. secretary Tissa Attanayake addressing a media briefing today (16) , bitterly criticized Fonseka over his interfering with the UNP affairs while he had not been able to get his own Peramuna (DNF) party to attend the meeting he had summoned on the 18th . Attanayake who questioned Fonseka whether this is the way he shows his gratitude for all the assistance that was rendered to him at the Presidential elections , warned that if any UNP er holding official positions attends the meeting , stern action will be taken against them.
JVP is an allied party of Fonseka’s Democratic National front (DNF). Is even the JVP being invited to attend this meeting? It is part of his own DNF. Vijitha Herath is part of it and is the Secretary of the DNF . At least can Vijitha Herath be made to attend this meeting ? What is Fonseka therefore trying to achieve by poking his nose into the UNP when he is not even able to get his own party group to attend the meeting ? Is this Fonseka’s style of reciprocation for all the assistance that was given to him at the Presidential elections? The UNP Secretary questioned in pain .
We invited Fonseka to participate in the joint opposition campaign. He did not show any response to that. ‘Hence I am making it abundantly clear that if any body holding official positions in the UNP party participate in the Hyde Park rally on the 18th in violation of the Executive meeting decisions , severe measures will be taken against them’, Attanayake reiterated. .
Attanayake said , the leader of the DNF Sarath Fonseka has announced that a new political campaign is to be launched on the 18th , while the Organization calling itself as the united Bhikkhu Front is inviting people to flock to Hyde Park on the 18th for the campaign to abolish the Executive Presidency. Attanayake therefore questioned , of these two campaigns which is the correct one.
Meanwhile ,Hemakumara Nanayakkara , the leader of the Mawbima Janatha front who wanted to join Fonseka had instead joined with the joint opposition led by the UNP. At the meeting yesterday of the leaders of the joint opposition with Ranil Wickremesinghe , Nanayakkara also took part. In addition , the United peoples’ Front led by Sirimasiri Hapuarachchi and the SL Muslim party led by Abdul Rasool are the new parties that joined the joint opposition. |

It is the scoundrels like Shiral Lakthileke notorious for underhand schemes who disgraced themselves and the dignified party by hurling stones at their own party headquarters , and chased away by the UNP , and now propped and promoted by Kili Maharaja who are joining hands with the Alliance that is to be formed with Fonseka’s intervention in order to sabotage the joint opposition . This sinister group tried to induce Sajith Premadasa too to break off from the UNP . Sajith was judicious enough to discern that he was being led into a hell hole by these sinister scheming scoundrels took precautions against these poisonous influences. He had now said he would be abiding by all the decisions that are taken by the UNP. He had instructed all those close to him not to attend this meeting on the 18th.
Dayasiri Jayasekera M P who also trailed behind Fonseka previously has gone abroad to dodge these issues . There are doubts whether even MP Tiran Alles who was the broker in the negotiations to get Fonseka out from prison himself will attend this meeting. |
