| Unscrupulous CID blinded by ‘Royal megalomania’ unable to identify scrupulous media |

(Lanka-e-News-22.Aug.2012, 11.50PM) The CID told court on the 21st when the case was taken for trial , that the ‘Mirror’ and Lanka x news websites that were raided by them recently are not media Institutions and the staff there are not journalists.
On the 26th of June the CID suddenly laid siege to the office of the two websites, and did a search. On that occasion the CID took into custody a number of computers and arrested 8 members of the staff . Later, they were produced to court and they were released on police bail. The case was heard again on the 21st of august .
The CID when adducing reasons told court that these websites were not being run based on accepted media norms and customs. To substantiate this claim a report of a most sordid pro Rajapakse newspaper of Tiran Alles the faceless businessman and the notorious political turncoat was produced before the Additional Magistrate by IP Anura De Silva ,which only earned the displeasure and ridicule of the court and all those present for its stupidity and IP’s idiocy.
When IP Anura De Silva retracted the earlier allegations and made open and shameless contradictions in the court that the employees of the websites were not journalists , this sent out a wave of rude shocks , for specially Siddeek Kariapper who was arrested is a journalist for the last 40 years , and had been a journalist in a media Institution of the Govt. |

itself as an Editor and News Editor. Besides , last year he won an award from the SL Editors’ Guild.
However Anura De Silva , could not explain to court the criterion on which a media Institution and a journalist is decided upon as acceptable by him and his criminals who gave him the orders to commit these offences abusing the laws. |
