| Fiscal mismanagement and Rajapakising of Banks spell doom-economy in a shambles !! |

(Lanka-e-News-28.June.2012, 11.55PM) The country’s economy is in a shambles ! Because of the Rajapakising of Banks, and the Govt.’s monumental fiscal bungling, the entire economy is crashing on the rocks.
The vehicle importers say they are forced to sell the vehicles at prices much below cost because there are no Buyers. The sale prices are sometimes Rs. 20 lakhs below the usual selling prices. A vehicle that is Rs. 80 lakhs can be now bought Rs. 20 to 25 lakhs below its price, according to reports reaching Lanka e news.
Even the common man’s mode of transport the three wheelers are sold below price at about Rs. On e lakh less. These problems are being compounded by the rapid and steep appreciation of the dollar as against the SL rupee. The importers have to face losses two or three fold or even more . If the importers don’t make a quick sale their losses continue to multiply almost daily , the importers say.
Meanwhile even the people’s food items have risen sharply . The vegetable prices have risen mercurially – within just two weeks , the price shave doubled .

What is worse is , under the Rajapakse regime and its Rajapakising policies , prices that go up never had been brought down . One of the many cases in point is the fuel price increases . Even though the world market prices have plummeted , the mendacious , moribund and corrupt Govt. by telling one lie or another stubbornly refuses to reduce the fuel prices.
All the vegetables including beans , carrots, leeks , beetroot and tomatoes have shot up in price. Practically every vegetable is over Rs. 200/- per kilo.
According to our correspondents across the entire Island , the people are so disgusted that they are not only scolding but even cursing the rulers. |
