| Bans into the bins ! LeN face book exceeds one lakh !! Media Minister Yapa the Tom pachaya (blatant liar) nowhere !!! |

 (Lanka-e-News-27.May.2012, 4.55PM) The number of viewers who access the face book that was opened on 19th October by Lanka e news as an answer to the website ban imposed on it , had exceeded one lakh ,that is , 107053 within this relatively short period of 7 months , which is a most gratifying statistic , particularly in this climate within SL against media freedom , deadly threats and intimidations confronted by us.
Of this over a lakh viewers , about 74000 are from within SL thereby testifying to the fact that the desperate and deadly efforts of the present murderous Govt. and its sordid bootlicking media have turned out to be a damp squib . The fans of Lanka e news face book in general is about 12 lakhs . Besides the number of viewers of this traditional website which commenced on 4th October 2005, until today is a staggering 300 million 50 lakhs according to records !!.
Even after the cruel ban on the website the number of viewers had not declined . This clearly demonstrates that by the bans and the new barbaric rules and regulations of the uncouth Medamulana, the website cannot be hindered , hampered or obstructed from the ardent viewers.
Meanwhile the fundamental rights petition filed against the ban of five websites by the campaign for media freedom was tossed overboard most atrociously by the judges of the MaRa kangaroo court even without so much as citing a single reason to support its decision to do so.
At the Cabinet meeting to reveal the Cabinet decisions, Media Minister Yapa , who owns a lie factory readily produced some lies most brazenly and blatantly , and said , in SL , no website has been banned except the websites which are not registered . Therefore there had been no impediments militating against websites, he noted.
He added that if the websites are not to encounter obstructions they should register themselves. In other words , what he said was , there must be people at the websites to answer the issues revolving around the reports published .
Registration of it is something salutary and ordinary because the right to carry on a website is denied thereby when it is done on the sly. Freedom cannot be granted to run it like a wild beast , the Minister warned.
Since Minister Yapa is enjoying the freedom of a wild beast under this Govt. with all the privileges which ought to belong to a human and not a brute like him , Lanka e news the premier international Sinhala news on line service deems it is duty bound to make known the truth as opposed to Yapa’s stupid falsehoods ….
When Lanka e news was launched on 4th February 2005, there were only the websites of several Sinhala newspapers like Lankadeepa. Lakbima, Divaina and Dinamina; and only some news picked daily from the newspapers were published in the websites . Fresh news were posted again the day after the news picked from the next day newspapers . That was not on line news dissemination. That was repeating the newspaper edited reports.
On the other hand all of them used what was called as ‘crow fonts’ to Sinhala which ‘fonts’ were not 100% correct. We amended this to ‘Sandaru normal’ after correcting the shortcomings in the imperfect ‘font’. What you are reading now is on the amended ‘Sandaru normal’ font which we introduced to the international website.d
Lanka e news started initially as an on line news service which reported news on the spot on what were occurring then and there. After some months , a news archives was commenced by us . Today it is we who have a 7 year old Sinhala website news archives. Because we allowed use of our ‘font’ free of charge , it created the base for the proliferation of other Sinhala websites.
Even the Govt.’s Sinhala websites used the ‘font ’ of ours which we facilitated to download . It is after three years that the Sinhala Unicode was introduced at a massive cost of Rs. 500 million. This was just the initial expenditure.
Yet the shortcomings in this system in Sinhala had not been remedied after spending so much money. May we point out even today , the President’s official website is using the font , ‘sandaru normal’ introduced by Lanka news . Yet the President and his clan were most ungrateful to us , for they destroyed all the assets of ours and the resources which helped us to produce that font. The whole nation is well aware of this.
After Lanka e news inaugurated the website we tried to register a website in accord with the aforementioned on line news service . The only method available was to obtain the identity cards issued by the information Dept .to its journalists who are employed under us.
The first answer that was furnished when we made the request for the identity cards was , no identity cards have been issued earlier , and therefore be that as it may. Afterwards , taking into account our media viewers , the information Dept. issued preliminarily five identity cards to the Lanka e news.
There existed a method of customary registration of journalists, as of the newspapers or electronic media or responsible media Institutions . Until the Lanka e news website was totally banned we had not violated that requirement.
We are retracing this history to enlighten and educate this brute of a Minister who is enjoying wild beast freedom on what is wild beast media freedom.
On 7th October 2011 , Lanka e news was banned illegally without adhering to the rules of law of the country .That was because we exposed the stark truths in regard to the Baratha Lakshman gruesome murder while the other media Institutions were suppressing the facts.

Following the US Embassy office issuing a notice expressing its deep sorrow and concern over the banning of LeN, the Govt. took an injunction order unilaterally on 3rd November 2011 giving a legal character to the illegal ban . Later , the Govt. introduced laws that the websites shall continue to be registered uninterruptedly. Now , this brute of a Minister who enjoys the wild beast freedom confirmed that he is not only possessed of a wild life freedom but also of a wild beast brain when he subsequently concocted a story that the website was banned because it was not registered.
Minister Yapa’s contradictory announcement that no website was banned is a blatant lie therefore. |

This has been the habit of this brutish Minister who is enjoying wild life freedom to whitewash all the indiscretions he committed and brazen lies he uttered shamelessly . This same mentally afflicted Yapa , better known as Tom Pachaya, again said, if there is anything written that is wrong , there must be a location to give notice of it. Websites have a place where notifications can be issued. That method of notification is the electronic website address. In addition there is a website address for face to face meeting any time. For this beast brained Minister Yapa and his murderous regime , these are not enough . They are in search of a postal address. We shall today reveal why they need a postal address ….
Our website office had a postal address . What did they do to it? They torched the premises and razed it to the ground. Our journalist Prageeth Ekneliyagoda who had an address was abducted by the white van , and he is still missing. Our journalists who had addresses were arrested on framed up charges and jailed. It is to indulge in these crimes gleefully , brutish Yapa and his bestial ruthless political bosses want addresses.
Yapa and his clan are suffering from the deadly ‘address influenza’ that plagued the proverbial old senile lion.
We shall be failing in our duty towards the law abiding public thirsting for the truth if we do not say something about the unscrupulous sordid judges ( male and female), (dis)gracing the hallowed judicial bench who recently sacrificed the media freedom at the altar of their self seeking interests and sordidness when they openly and unscrupulously favored the Tom Pachaya Minister Yapa by rejecting the petition filed against the website bans, without adducing any reasons in support for the rejection.
It will not be out of context if we recall that during the period after 1978 a big din was made that laws shall be enacted to register the cassette businesses that were raging in SL, including cassette songs, and to issue certificates pertaining to their status. It was also insisted that in cases where they are not registered, such cassettes should be banned . But those who clamored for this did not have the common sense to understand that they can be used as instruments for cassette media songs and other purposes. What they could visualize was the cassette songs only.
Fortunately , the officials at that time were not that stupid , they did not agree to that demand. Today those cassette instruments had gone defunct. But the seven octaves in music and songs are still continuing even today. If laws were enacted and bans were introduced in those bygone days , wont those who were responsible for them be viewed today as scoundrels by society ?
It is on this token we say if the laws to be enacted today are introduced to justify the ban on websites , posterity will term those responsible as scoundrels.
The websites in the international network are countless instruments . Infinite benefits can be derived from them. These bestial brutish humans to whom truth stings worse than the worst sting of the bees cannot bear to hear or see the truth, but that incapacity will not last for long , for truth will sooner or later declare itself. The data at the beginning of this article about us bear ample testimony to this stark fact. |
