| Racist Ven. Medhananda who knows only of grave digging defends illicit treasure digging |

 (Lanka-e-News-13.May.2012, 11.55PM) Ven. Medhananda Thero at an interview with a weekend newspaper had moved heaven and earth to vindicate the dastardly illicit treasure digging operations of the MaRa regime.. He had added that like oil , treasure is another natural asset of the soil.
‘What I say is , as those ancient commodities are national assets , they must be protected . Treasure is another thing.
They are what found under the ground. They are not holy ancient articles. If there are commodities like gems and gold under the ground , what I say is , the Govt. should take them into their possession, make a public announcement and make them part of the country’s assets.
Q. Are you Ven, Thero saying , these ancient articles , these treasures must necessarily be dug out in the present time ?
A . If these ancient articles or ancient treasure are being dug on the sly in present times , it is unlawful and meriting punishment. Yet what assets which are found under the ground belong to the Govt. Hence what I say is , in instances where there are valuable assets under the ground , it is best the Govt. publicly announces to the people and takes custody of them.
It is because the Govt. is not doing this that rogues are digging in search of treasure all over. Treasure is a natural asset like gems and oil under the ground. |

The Thero who is representing the JHU does not even know what the letters JHU stand for and what they mean..
